UFO History: January 9, 1967

On this National Day of Mourning, I have spent time diving down a few rabbit holes. None that I am ready to share yet, but they are there and will likely come out in a few days. 

Now, after a few hours, I decided it was time to sit down and explore what took place in UFO history, and I found a decent case to highlight. This one took place on January 9, 1967 in Lake St. Clair, Michigan.

On that day, two teen-age brothers, Dan and Grant Jaroslaw, took some photographs of a dome-shaped object from the backyard of their Mt. Clemens home. Their house sat about a mile from Selfridge Air Force Base. This object was viewed at a very low altitude and was moving slowly across the sky. The unit remained in view for roughly 10 minutes and the brothers took multiple pictures of the incident. 

What makes this interesting is that after these pictures were published and a set given to the Air Force, Dr. Hynek from Project Blue Book stepped in and declared there was insufficient evidence in their report because the brothers refused to turn over the original photos. 

This was an impressive move by the two young witnesses and a great lesson for those researching today. Although these were polaroids and easier to protect, any evidence collected must be maintained at all cost and a chain of custody established. Too many outside entities exist that want to discredit or debunk any type of encounter, and this is one way to protect against that.
