About Us

The Smoking Gun Research Agency (SGRA) was founded by researcher Jon Nowinski in 1997 to find answers to the mysterious unknown that lies outside explanation. And through the years, his organization set the standard that laid the groundwork for the researchers of today. 

Whether the case was paranormal, cryptozoological, or UFO-related, Jon and his team approached it with care and expertise that set them apart. Through the years, the organization grew into a respected worldwide entity on the cutting edge of unexplained research. 

Unfortunately, the organization was shaken to its core in 2019, when Jon tragically lost his battle with multiple health issues and passed away. On that day, the world lost a great person, and the research community lost a giant light in the darkness. Fast forward to 2025, and Jon’s light still shines. His vision and desire to pull back the curtain on the unexplained remain intact. 

I was lucky enough to have met Jon and his team at the SGRA in the early 2000s and accompanied them on many field investigations, and after some time away from the world of the unexplained, I decided it was time to honor Jon, pick up his torch, and work to expose the light in the darkness and pull back the curtain on the mysteries that surround us. 

While this project is in its infancy, there is no doubt that Jon’s spirit and guidance will lead the way, and with growing acceptance and technological advances in the field, we will find the answers that have eluded us for generations. 

While no one could ever replicate what was created by the Smoking Gun Research Agency, my goal is to break through the abyss surrounding us and take a detailed, scientific approach to researching the mysteries.

In a world where conspiracy theories are more reliable than the narrative being pushed by legacy media, I aim to dive into the stories, dig into the talking points, and reveal the smoking gun that reveals the truth. We will also dig into Jon’s work with the SGRA and introduce him to the latest generation of researchers, who would not be where they are without the forgotten organizations that laid the foundation for what exists today. 

As with the Smoking Gun Research Agency, no topic is off-limits. We will be working to build a network to investigate and research claims of the paranormal, mysterious cryptid sightings, alien contact, government overreach, and the conspiracies that continue to fascinate the masses. 

We will dive into history, dig into archives, and do whatever it takes to inform the population of what is happening around them, in hopes of finding the smoking gun that will reveal the secret of the matrix.
