UFO History: January 8, 2008

Another typical day in the world of the Tennessee Titans kept me busy writing about the first wave of potential general manager interviews. But, now that is over, I’m able to dive into the world of UFOs and the unexplained. 

When I sat down to look for January 8, I found an interesting case from 2008. This one took place in Stephenville, Texas and made national news.

Here are some of the details. On the evening of January 8, 2008 multiple residents in the Stephenville area witnessed a large, silent object in the sky. Estimated to be roughly a half mile wide and a mile long, the object had various patterns of bright lights all over. The witnesses continued that this large object moved at incredible speeds, ran silent, and the lights could rearrange themselves at will. 

Some will chalk this sighting up to military exercises in the area, although the reports of those exercises had to be forced out of the Air Force by the media. While the Air Force admitted that they had multiple fighter jets in the air at the time of the sightings, those aircraft do not match the description of the object described by the witnesses. 

While this may indeed be remnants of a military exercise, there are some issues (on top of the description) that are interesting. The speed, silence, size and light patterns do not match anything in the United States arsenal.
