UFO History: January 10, 1976

 

It’s Friday and unfortunately, there is snow in the forecast for us in Virginia Beach. For me, having grown up in the hills of Pennsylvania, this minor snowfall is nothing. But, for the rest of Hampton Roads anything more than an inch is like armageddon. Hopefully, the weather prognosticators are wrong. 

But, now, it is time to venture into UFO History. Which is another thing, why did they change the acronym to UAP. calling them UFOs just makes more sense to me. That being said, for January 10, I am taking a trip back to 1976 in Merville-Franceville-Plage, France.

On that night, a Mr. Masseron was sleeping in a trailer when he was awakened by shaking, scratching sounds and loud banging sounds on the skin of the vehicle. Shaken, he peered through the window and saw a strange luminous green and red egg-shaped object resting on the ground. This craft was roughly two dozen yards away and appeared to be five feet tall and three feet wide. 

He continued to watch as the craft rose from the ground in a spiral to around 50 feet and hovered there for a second before vanishing. Throughout this encounter, the craft emitted a loud jet engine type sound. The witness opened his door, and heard something like a message as received on his walkie-talkie within the background static. All he could make out through the noise was the letter  L-P-X. 

Once outside, he witnessed a strange dark human silhouette running across the road near his trailer. He noted a peculiar detail as the figures’ whole body was oriented on the axis of prolongation of his right leg.

Later after calling in an investigator, they found curious footprints near the area where the creature was seen running. 

For me, this final statement in the report made it extremely interesting because of the numerous sightings in the United States during that time frame with similar descriptions of UFOs and creatures within the same sightings. In the US, many of those claimed that a sasquatch type creature was involved and in this case it was a humanoid silhouette with curious footprints. It would have been a lot better had there been a better, more detailed description.
