UFO History: December 7, 1977

Today for our historical look at UFO Sightings across the globe, we head far away from the United States to the town of Tatapouri, New Zealand. 

On December 7, 1977, a witness reported that around 1930, a red, disc-shaped object came inland from the sea and eventually followed a vehicle. That car was carrying three people inside and all three experienced the following. 

While there was an electrical disturbance with the car, the headlights only dimmed but did not go out during the sighting. Soon after coming into sight, the craft shot toward the sky. It wasn’t until the group returned home that they found the recently serviced battery was empty. The internal battery water was gone. 

This small sighting was Case 416, from the 1978 first quarter publication of Speceview. 

This is an interesting case considering the dimming of the lights and the discovery of the damaged battery. Had the craft somehow siphoned the water causing the lights to dim, or is something else at play? Good thing that with the sealed batteries of today, this same type of interaction is less likely, although it would probably cause more damage.
