Bigfoot sighting reported near Pachaug State Forest

The other day, when I was going through the email archives, I stumbled on an email with a friend and researcher in Connecticut who came across what had the earmarks of a Bigfoot track in the Steep Rock Preserve.

To my surprise, when I got on my Instagram account earlier today, a post from CBS New York came across my feed, reporting a Bigfoot sighting near the Pachaug State Forest in Connecticut.

According to the report, this one took place near Voluntown, which sits at the opposite end of the state from the encounter that I reported on. Although due to the size of the state, it isn't a great distance as would be the case in some other states.

According to the CBS Report, the Bigfoot Field Research Organization (BFRO) was contacted and, after reviewing the report, rated it at the highest level of credibility.

While some of the locals are somewhat open to the idea of something roaming the woods, like Richard Fedor said, "Every once in a while, if it's really quiet and still, you'll hear, like, a branch pop in the distance. You know, it makes you wonder, oh, what's walking around back there?"

Others, like Peter Gautieri, believe it's a hoax, saying, "You know, it's probably a guy running around with a costume on. Who knows?"

In all, the BFRO has documented 22 reports of Bigfoot sightings in Connecticut, and that may not count the one I reported on from my archives.
